Black Market: Shopping with black business owners
SHOP, SIP & SOCIALIZE.
Let's come together and Celebrate Black business owners. We can take the negative connotation of the "black" (market) and create a space for "black" to be associated with something positive. The black market is a space for black business owners and their supporters to come together.
This event was created in light of the controversy around H&M's decision to put a young black boy in a hoody with the saying 'coolest monkey in the jungle" on it and his white counterpart in a jungle survival expert hoodie. Unlike some other brands, The black market is not exclusive but inclusive of all people. Noone should want to support a company that doesn't support all people equally. This Pop-up shop was created because black-owned businesses are under-supported and deserve more recognition.
